When you think of Business Casual or Dress clothes, do you think about pinstripes?
I sure do! But I Dress Up to Dress down when it comes to my wardrobe. And mixing up your casual and business clothes can be fun and challenging.
A casual band T-shirt with a pinstripe wrap skirt is how I approached this trend. And of course outfits under $50 or $100 are always the goal.
My cut off band T-Shirt is from HM it only ran me about $18. But I always use a 20% off text coupon so it was most likely a little less. The wrap skirt.. $7! What’s crazy is I saw it in another Forever 21 store for Regular price $15 and when I was at another location I found it on the sale rack for half price! Frugal Shopaholic Luck!
Glasses are Buffalo Exchange of course, probably the only place in-store next to Forever 21 that I buy glasses. Surprisingly my bag is from TJ Maxx. For those of you who continue to sleep on TJ Maxx… keep on so I can round up all the cute stuff for my own wardrobe.
Last but not least my heels. They are Cape Robbin brand and I got them from Nordstrom Rack for under $30. You should definitely frequent Nordstrom Rack online. They have some of the best brands for really low prices, I just wish they had free shipping!

Shopping is so therapeutic for me but I also consider myself an impulse shopper as well… that isn’t really conducive to my bank account. The Vintage bag featured in this post was most certainly an impulse buy. But I recently decided to go on a 14- day spending fast from July 1st to July 14th. I cannot spend money on material things, i.e. clothes, shoes, accessories, etc. Whew this is going to be tough!

The last few weeks have been such…. they’ve been up and down for me. I have been fasting from sweets, red meat and pork since June 1st. Whew just know.. Sweets are my kryptonite. I love cup cakes, gummy bears, doughnuts… you name it. So you know its been tough. But through all of that God provided me with the clarity I needed on a few situations that had been lingering and I’m grateful. Mini Full disclosure moment… but on to the clothing!

Pinstripe & structured tops are my absolute favorites of the season. Every chance I get to buy something unique I jump on it especially if its a good price. I’ve found that stores like Marshall’s, Tj Maxx and & Charlotte Russe carry some of the nicer more affordable tops and bottoms and are somewhat “slept on”. Which is fine with me because those are stores I frequent and leaves more for me!

It’s 12 am Wednesday morning… and I’m drawing a blank. Have you ever just felt so drained by everything? With work, blogging and keeping up with loved ones, I feel like I’m 5 different women and they are all tired.

My goal this summer is to attend a few concerts. I have not been to a concert since maybe 2011-2012. I saw my auntie Erykah Badu in Greensboro during GHOE. Great show, but that was so long ago.

Back from Cuba and it’s time to get back to blogging regularly. I will say I’m still trying to catch up on sleep/rest. Traveling can be very tiring.
For the sake of travel, it’s always my goal to travel and be comfortable but stylish at the same time…. this is the same for the gym. All of my gym clothes are cute and match for the most part. But there are times that I just want to wear my gym clothes even though I’m not going to the gym and I’m okay with that. In the fashion world the popular term for it is “Athleisure”. Casual, comfortable clothing designed for both exercise and everyday wear.

I’ve talked a lot on my Snapchat about how disappointed I was with the selection the past two years at HM. I will admit the last few months thing have gotten better. Instead of only seeing zilch, I have seen a few pieces that I have incorporated into my current wardrobe.

After attending a Grand Opening of a local Boutique here in Charlotte, I came across a beautiful embroidered maxi dress that was to die for!!! But it was wayyyy out of my budget… $120 worth. I knew after looking at the tag that I couldn’t afford it. Every since then I have been on the hunt for a similar dress.

It was love at first sight when I laid eyes on this metallic pencil skirt. I immediately knew how I wanted to style it and it all came together with the other pieces.
